The Society of Creative Anachronism is an inclusive community pursuing research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat and culture. A SCAdian, a member of this organization, creates a Persona of a time and place before the year 1700 and goes by that Persona's name. The SCAdian that created this site created the Persona of Nicasia. 

Nicasia the SCAdian (see Persona and Backstory page for those details) resides in the East Kingdom as of May 2020. She wanted a single source to organize information for herself as she learns about Byzantium in addition to keeping record of resources, images, and experiences for and in the SCA after finding that that the things she wanted to write down would be too much to put on her East Kingdom Wiki page. If you are also interested in Byzantine things (especially VIth century), lions, sign language (historical or modern American Sign Language), or anything else this SCAdian may post about, you are more than welcome to peruse her site for ideas and resources to use for yourself for archeological history, living history, or anachronistic fun. This site is not intended for Nicasia to make money or sell any products of her own (she does not do either of these things), though she will have pages with links for books and articles she has read as well as shops she regularly uses for garments, garb materials, jewelry, and other accessories for future reference for herself or any readers that come across her site. Think of this site as a digital journal for her notes as she studies rather than a true blog, as it is primarily this SCAdian's goal to maintain a digital journal for future reference, images being used as if scrapbooking.
